Videography and Photography
What a Huge Difference!

Videography and Photography - they sound alike, don't they? But getting a combo service isn't like adding "fries with that." The two disciplines are very very different. Things are defined by their purpose - not their components so just because we use similar tools, that doesn't make us interchangeable.

Videographers Tell Stories in 4-Dimensional Space-Time
Movie cameras record 24+ frames per second with sound. Videographers wants action, action and more action! We expect life to move fast and we position ourselves and frame shots to capitalize on that movement. The purpose of video is to tell a story. So a videographer is always thinking of how actions, events and relationships connect to one-another in a continuous romantic story line. Context! Each shot needs to make sense in context with the whole program.

Photographers Freeze Beauty in 2-Dimensional Space
Every time a photographer snaps a picture, he takes a live event out of time & space and drops it into eternity - frozen forever! You can watch it all day long and it will never move again. Photography is meditative ....contemplative ...stylish. Each picture stands alone as a beautiful image without any need for context. It doesn't have to make any sense because it isn't a story.

Videography is all about action and photography is all about stopping the action! Do you see the difference? It is ironic that photographers (not videographers) are the most active and potentially obtrusive vendor at your wedding because they need to be in position when that perfect photogenic instant happens. Here's a jaw-dropping example. Videographers are just the opposite! We need to stand still because you're the one who's moving.

Photographers who offer "video with that" are preying on your ignorance and revealing their own. It is physiologically impossible to think in 2-dimensions AND also 4-dimensions at the same time. A photographer will always favor his first love (2-Dimensions) and you will not get a story in your video - you'll just get a collection of beautiful yet meaningless moving pictures.
