A Brief History

. . . It all began in my hometown of Modesto, California in 1985. I used my father's super8 camera to create stop-motion animated films. Later, I made live-action flims with a couple of friends - 2 guys - who were just as obsessed with filmmaking as I was. We wrote scripts, sewed costumes, created special effects and built our own camera equipment.
. . . In 1989 I graduated high school and worked as an extra in Back to the Future 3 for over a month. I learned quite a lot from one of the best crews in Hollywood. (Ever hear of Robert Zemekis? Dean Cundy? Christopher Lloyd?) I wore a 100 year old victorian dress complete with corset, bonnet and high laced shoes. Based on this experience, I recommend that every bride take the time to learn how to move in her dress before the big day!
. . . After film school, I moved to Burbank and went to work for Walt Disney Imagineering in the office and pursued Script Supervising and the occasional wedding video on the side. After being laid off twice in the same year, it was time to strike out on my own. I started building this website and turned my guest bedroom into an editing suite.
. . . 2004-2006 saw a production slow-down in Hollywood followed by strikes. This brought a flood of talent into the event videography arena. Even so, live events are very different from feature or TV production and my industry colleagues sometimes don't realize how to behave and interract with real life. It takes a lot of sensitivity and agility! I know I wouldn't want my wedding turned into a film shoot so I am always mindful that it may be a serious job to me but it's still a party to you!
. . . In 2009, wedding videography is as essential as photography, clothes & flowers! The technology is very accessible and there are talented people who can make a memory that suites your particular taste & style. My style reflects my training and influences: Zemekis, Lucas and Capra. My specialties are camera operation and film editing. It's all about story. Your story. Let's make some history!
