My journey began as an amateur filmmaker in my hometown of Modesto, California in 1987. We made short dramatic films using Super8 film with the help of family, church friends and local merchants on weekends and holidays. Our style was simple, meaningful and reminiscent of a Frank Capra movie.

At Junior College I took video courses, volunteered at the local cable station, appeared in TV & print advertising and worked in the feature film Back to the Future 3. I spent a total of 20 days on location in Hill Valley 1885 watching and learning from some of Hollywood's Oscar winning talent. It was better than an internship, the classroom of my dreams! In college I also received valuable criticism from Adrian Carr, (editor & director) while I interned at Warner Hollywood Studios.

After film school I moved to LA, did some more background acting, paid the bills in an office job at Disney and freelanced as a Script Supervisor on low-budget films. But the strain of Hollywood's long and very random work hours began taking a toll on my health so I began to look more seriously at my favorite hobby of wedding videography.

I taped my first wedding video in 1990 for my cousin Bonnie up in Oregon. It was my gift to her. In the years that followed, I continued to make wedding videos every summer and give them as gifts.

My hobby officially became my career in 2001. I take tremendous satisfaction in producing media that means a lot to people. Weddings are very important films, dispite the inherant creative limitations. This also enables me to do all of the things I excel at: Camera handling, editing, continuity and a little sound design. To date, I have produced about 100 wedding videos and numerous smaller projects such as school plays, promotional videos, private events and actor's reels.

Perhaps your tastes in video do not run toward the subtleties of traditional film making. Perhaps you'll be happy to hire an ex-shoe salesman who bought a camera and went to a marketing seminar. Of such the world is full and I can only hope that couples who take the time to read this far are the kind who appreciate the quality that comes from my passion for the art, skill in the trade and respect for the occasion.
